From San Francisco, take Bay Bridge east to Berkeley.
From Berkeley, take I 80 east to Sacramento (50 - 60 miles). In Sacramento, follow the South Lake Tahoe signs to H50. Stay in left-hand lanes following H50 towards South Lake Tahoe. Go 2 to 3 miles after joining H50(past the Fresno turn off), and take H16 exit to Jackson at Power Inn Road. Turn Right on Power Inn Road, and immediately move to the far-left lane, to make a left turn at the traffic light onto Folsom Blvd. - still on H16 towards Jackson. Continue about 1 mile, turn right on Jackson Highway, H16. Follow the road about 30 miles to intersection with H49. Turn right on H49 to Sutter Creak / Jackson. Go 3 miles through Dry Town and make the left turn onto Historic Highway 49, continuing through Amador City. Come down the hill into Sutter Creek, the Grey Gables is on the right at the intersection of H49 & Amelia St.. Off street parking is at the rear.

I880 North to Hayward then H238 East & join I580 East to Livermore.

The Grey Gables is one block out on the left-hand side. Turn left just past the Grey Gables onto Amelia Street to the off street parking at the rear.

Take the San Mateo Bridge East to Hayward. Take I 880 North to Hayward, then H238 East joining I 580 East to Livermore. Take I 580 East to Livermore and on to Tracy. East on H12 (South on Broadway) and join with H121. Continue east to H29, then south about 3 miles to Jameson Canyon (H12), and continue east to I80. Turn East on I80 to Sacramento, about 40 miles. From H50 East bound, exit Right on Power Inn Road, and immediately move to the far left lane, to make a left turn at the traffic light onto Folsom Blvd. - still on H16 towards Jackson. North on H49 towards Jackson. ( note - H49 turns right 1 mile past San Andreas ) In Jackson, stay on H49 and continue 2 miles north towards Sutter Creek.H49 turns right just past the top of the hill. Continue 2 miles and turn right at a traffic signal onto Historic Highway 49 to Sutter Creek, 1 mile. Go through the town, making the left turn as you leave Main Street. Take H 12 East to H 49 (approx. 8 miles). Turn left onto H49 and head north to Jackson. (approx. 16 miles). In Jackson, stay on H49 and continue 2 miles north towards Sutter Creek.H49 turns right just past the top of the hill. Continue 2 miles and turn right at a traffic signal onto Historic Highway 49 to Sutter Creek, 1 mile. Go through the town, making the left turn as you leave Main Street. The Grey Gables is one block out on the left-hand side. Turn left just past the Grey Gables onto Amelia Street to the off street parking at the rear.

Exit the park on the North Entrance, H120, through Buck Meadows to Groveland (32 miles from park entrance).
Just past Groveland join H49 north to Jamestown, and on to Sonora (20 miles).
In Sonora, continue north on H49 (this is a left turn onto the main street of Sonora) to Angles Camp (18 miles). A side trip to Columbia State Park might be of interest.
Continue north on H49 to San Andreas (13 miles), then Jackson (17 miles). NOTE H49 turns right 1 miles north of San Andreas.
In Jackson, stay on H49 and continue 2 miles north towards Sutter Creek.H49 turns right just past the top of the hill. Continue 2 miles and turn right at a traffic signal onto Historic Highway 49 to Sutter Creek, 1 mile. Go through the town, making the left turn as you leave Main Street. West on I 80 to Auburn. South on H49, through Auburn to Placerville. Stay on H49 south to Plymouth. About 4 miles past Plymouth, H49 turns left to Sutter Creek. Go Go 3 miles through Dry Town and make the left turn onto Historic Highway 49, continuing through Amador City. Come down the hill into Sutter Creek, the Grey Gables is on the right at the intersection of H49 & Amelia St.. Off street parking is at the rear.

South on H395 to Minden, then West on H88 over Carson Pass (in winter check road conditions first - 1-800 427 ROAD, then enter highway # for conditions i.e. "88" ). Continue East on H88 through Pioneer to Pine Grove. As you exit Pine Grove, turn right on Ridge Road, following the Sutter Creek sign. After approx. 4 miles, Ridge Road makes another right turn at a 'T' junction. Turn Right and continue another 6 miles to the traffic signals at the junction of H49. Turn Right on H49 to Sutter Creek, 1 mile. Go through the town, making the left turn as you leave Main Street. The Grey Gables is one block out on the left-hand side. Turn left just past the Grey Gables onto Amelia Street to the off street parking at the rear.

Exit airport onto H101 South towards San Jose (8 miles).
Turn East onto H92, crossing the San Mateo Bridge to Hayward (13 miles)
Turn North on H880 towards Oakland (4 miles).
Turn East on H238 (2 miles), continuing onto I 580 East, to Livermore and then Tracy (33 miles). Before Tracy stay straight on I205 and join I5 North (15 miles). Continue North to Stockton (16 miles).
Turn East on H4 (Downtown Stockton) to H99 (4 miles).
Go North on H99 (1 mile) then East on H88 towards Jackson. Follow H88 through Lockford (16 miles), and Clements (7 miles). 2 miles past Clements, make a left turn, still on H88, towards Jackson. Continue on H88 for about 20 miles, then approx. About 5 miles past the Ione turn off, look for the Sutter Creek left turn sign at a railroad crossing and traffic signal. Go 2 miles to the traffic signal at H49. Turn Left on H49 then right at the next traffic signal onto Historic Highway 40 to Sutter Creek, 1 mile. Go through the town, making the left turn as you leave Main Street. The Grey Gables is one block out on the left-hand side. Turn left just past the Grey Gables onto Amelia Street to the off street parking at the rear.

From the airport take I5 south to Sacramento (8 miles), then Business H80 east towards South Lake Tahoe. (also signposted H99 & Fresno). Do not take the first H80 turnoff for Reno & San Francisco.
After joining Business 80, move to the left lanes and continue to follow the South Lake Tahoe & H50 signs. Approx. 3 miles after joining H50, take H16 exit to Jackson at Power Inn Road.
Turn Right on Power Inn Road, and immediately move to the far left lane, to make a left turn at the traffic light onto Folsom Blvd. - still on H16 towards Jackson. Continue about 1 mile, and turn right onto Jackson Highway, H16.
Follow H16 (through Slough-house and Rancho Murrieta) to intersection with H49 (34 miles).
